Natural Energy Supplements - Helping You To Last Longer

In this fast paced world, taking natural energy supplements have become more commonplace. In many cases, these supplements are not just taken during a taxing schedule but taken on a daily basis.

As we age, the lack of energy is one of the symptoms that hits home pretty quickly. When we're young, we generally can just keep going.

As we get older, our body seems to drag at times, leaving us with the thoughts of where our energy went and what to do to get it back. Natural energy boosters are an effective solution to this problem.

But what is it that is in these natural energy supplements that makes them work? To answer this question, you have to look at how food provides us with energy?

A food is composed of carbohydrates, fat or protein, or a combination of these. That food is automatically set up in a form to give you energy.

But if the food is fried, processed or loaded with additives and chemicals, then your body recognizes the food as a burden and has to slow itself down to eliminate the food’s toxicity. This creates fatigue and what you have is the loss of energy instead of a gain of energy.

The closer a food is to its natural state, the more energy that food will provide to you. The more processed a food is, the more energy it will take to deal with it and process it within the body.

Two foods that are in some natural supplements and considered high in energy potential are bee pollen and royal jelly. Some herbs that increase energy, known as adaptogens, are also in  natural supplements. Some examples are Siberian ginseng, Brazilian ginseng (Suma) and Peruvian ginseng (Maca).

Natural energy supplements are even more effective when they contain enzymes that help break down the food into smaller parts during digestion. These enzymes include proteases that break down protein, amylase that breaks down the amyloid bonds in carbohydrates, and lipases that break down fat.

Natural energy boosters may also contain B vitamins and minerals which are necessary for the production of energy in the biochemical cycles of the body.

Every one of the B vitamins is intimately tied to these cycles. Vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin), folic acid, inositol and choline.

Minerals that are generally thought to increase energy levels include zinc, selenium, and chromium.

When you are deciding on a natural energy booster, aim for one that includes herbs in addition to vitamins and minerals. This is because the herbs can help supply trace amounts of nutrients that may otherwise not be included in the formula.
