Natural Cholesterol Supplements - Reducing Risks & Improving Health

It is hard to consider that natural cholesterol supplements can do the job just as well or even better than prescription drugs such as Lipitor or Lovistatin.

After all when Big Pharma's marketing machinery and political clout gets behind their drugs, alternative remedies are often pushed aside.

But if you are throwing up your hands into the air and asking, “What can I do naturally to lower cholesterol? - you are on the right track.

You believe that natural healing through foods and herbs could be an answer to better healthy without the nasty side effects or hefty price tag.

It’s amazing how many people don’t believe as you do. They go from doctor to doctor and from prescription to prescription, never increasing their quality of health at all.

Even doctors agree that the more prescription medications you are on, the worse your quality of health. Yet for many, getting a prescription is good enough for them.

As you look through your natural herbal remedy supplements in your medicine chest or your kitchen cabinet, you may find that you don’t have something specific for cholesterol reduction.

Natural cholesterol remedies can drop your cholesterol level into the normal range within 45 to 60 days, just as they do in the research studies. Some of the herbs that these natural herbal remedy supplements contain include guggulipid, red yeast rice, artichoke, okra, and even Rooibos, an herb found in South Africa.

Guggulipid is an herb used in Indian medicine. In one study, an extract of 25 mg taken three times daily reduced LDL-cholesterol by 13% and triglycerides by 12%.

Red yeast rice at the level of 1.2 grams per day was found to significantly decrease serum total cholesterol levels after two months in both men and women. It also increased HDL-cholesterol, the good cholesterol.

It only took 42 days to reduce high cholesterol levels with artichoke in one study. Another study found that 1800 mg artichoke extract per day for six weeks lowered total cholesterol by 18.5% and 22.9% for LDL-cholesterol.

Research on okra is showing similar trends although studies on this herb are still in their infancy.

Rooibos is rich in minerals, which help keep cholesterol in a healthy range. Rooibos tea also needs more research but the results so far are quite promising.

These natural cholesterol supplements include all the relevant herbs that promote a healthy cardiovascular system and support the body's ability to deal with free radicals.
