Homeopathic vs Herbal Remedies

Homeopathy vs herbal remedies? If you are health conscious, it’s important to know the difference between the two. There are times when you would want a homeopathic supplement and other times when herbal supplements would be your first choice.

Here’s a table that lists the differences:

If you have odd symptoms that don’t seem to add up to any specific type of disease or that no doctor can pinpoint as attached to any disease, then homeopathic remedies are your best bet. Using the principle of like cures like, the symptom could be relieved relatively quickly.

Homeopathic remedies also address all types of odd symptoms that are not generally addressed by herbs, such as the person likes to drink icy cold water but only in the morning or a rash that is weepy only at night.

If you have an infection that is a known bacteria, it’s a better idea to take an herbal supplement rather than homeopathic remedies. The reason for this is that many herbs are very specific in their action against certain bacteria. For example, some herbs have specific anti-staphylococcus or anti-e.coli types of actions.

However, homeopathic treatments will work on symptoms and offer symptomatic relief instead. Sure they may eliminate the vomiting associated with e.coli infection but what about the actual microbe? Not many studies have proven that homeopathic remedies are effective in a placebo-controlled, randomized, double-blind study that meets current medical standards.

If you have a genetic disease or a congenital disease, homeopathic remedies may alleviate the symptoms but won’t cure it. The same is true for herbal supplements.

The best way to determine whether or not your illness can be helped by homeopathy vs herbal remedies is to either try them yourself or visit a qualified homeopathic practitioner or master herbalist and see which one works.

You’ll also find plenty of info online about the homeopathy vs herbal remedies debate. Read up on them and get a feel for which remedies work for specific types of ailments.
