Fish Oil For Arthritis – Reduce Joint Pain & Improve Mobility
Taking fish oil for arthritis is not something that would come to mind if you are arthritic or want to avoid the condition. But there is no denying how powerful omega 3 fishoil is in promoting joint health.

What’s in Fish Oil?

Omega 3 Fish Oil For Arthritis
The inflammation that occurs in arthritic joints is controlled internally by prostaglandins. The omega 3 fat EPA, is effective against stiffness and inflammation because it interferes with prostaglandins that promote and create inflammation and inflammatory compounds.
In Newcastle, Australia, researchers tested fishoil on 50 patients with rheumatoid arthritis who consumed less than 10 grams of omega 6 fat per day. Having too much omega 6 is known to promote inflammation and hence bad for joint health.
Half the patients were given fish oil capsules at a level of about 2.8 grams daily while the other half received corn oil / olive oil capsules as placebo. Both groups maintained their diet and medication.
In the omega 3 fish oil group, after 15 weeks, 6 out of 9 measured parameters were remarkably improved whilst there were no improvement in the other group.
From this and the other studies carried out in Australia, doctors at the Royal Adelaide hospital concluded that a diet low in omega 6 and higher in omega 3 is essential for good health.
They also concluded that dietary fish oil supplements should be part of standard therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.
